If any Chelsea fans were questioning whether Eden Hazard’s heart was still in it, his reaction to our loss ought to provide some clarification.
Hazard could have signed for Real Madrid in the summer if the circumstances were different. He was evidently interested in making the move, especially with Zinedine Zidane being in charge at the time. Perhaps he had a change of heart, of Los Blancos didn’t push forward with their interest, but a Chelsea player he remained.
The Belgian has been head and shoulders above every other player under Maurizio Sarri’s stewardship this season, as you may have expected. He’s yet to commit to a new Chelsea contract, while openly flirting with Real Madrid. You could be forgiven for thinking that his head is in Madrid, even if he is still performing in Chelsea blue.
However, we firmly believe that Hazard’s love for this club hasn’t decreased amidst all the talk of a transfer to Real Madrid – and we have the evidence to prove it. Look at his reaction as Raheem Sterling fired home the penalty. That’s not just disappointment at losing the game, he really felt that. He felt it for every Chelsea fan.
