We all know John Terry’s time as a Chelsea player is coming to an end with his contract set to expire in the summer.
Last season we thought he was going to leave the club, when he was eventually offered a last-minute one-year renewal deal in the last few months.
This time it really does look like his time is up, the defender has picked up constant injuries this season and when fit not being able to get in the side. This is mainly due to Antonio Conte’s formation change to a 3-4-3 and the ever so impressive form of defensive trio David Luiz, Cahill and Azpiliceuta.
Also young French defender Kurt Zouma is back in full training and is going to come back into the fold at some point. Chelsea are also thought to be targeting a centre-back in next months transfer window so for Terry its going to be hard to demonstrate that he’s worth holding onto.
All that aside it hasn’t stopped our 36 year-old captain scoring this first-time volley in training reminiscent of that great Marco Van Basten strike at Euro 88.
