It looks as though Chelsea are (finally) making some serious movements in the transfer market.
As JuveFC report, Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that Juventus received a sizeable offer from Premier League champions Chelsea for left-back Alex Sandro. However, Marotta confirms that the bid was turned down. Juve FC quote Marotta, who says:
“Chelsea made a very big offer for Alex Sandro. We said no, but today players are masters of their own destiny.”
It is interesting, however, that Marotta suggests that whether or not Sandro makes the move to Stamford Bridge may well come down to him. In modern football, money talks, so it would certainly be interesting to see if he could have his head turned by a lucrative contract offer from the Blues.
Sandro has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the world during his time in Turin, and would be perfect on the left-hand-side of Antonio Conte’s back five-cum-three. It remains to be seen whether he will push for a move to West London this summer.
