Maurizio Sarri Mateo Kovacic

Maurizio Sarri has insinuated that Chelsea will not have any players out injured for the Blues’ clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley this evening.

Premier League titles can often be won and lost on the fitness of the competitors’ star players. We have already had Eden Hazard sidelined this term, but the results’ didn’t suffer in his absence, perhaps due to favourable fixtures.

Tottenham away, even if it’s at Wembley, is one of the toughest contests on the Premier League calendar. We’ll need all our most influential players fit and firing if we want to have any chance of getting a result today, and thankfully, they are!

While speaking in his pre-match press conference, Sarri is quoted by Football London revealing that there are no major injury concerns for Chelsea ahead of the game:

“No big problems. As usual after the national teams, there are some little problems. Some with little injuries, some a little bit tired.”

“Fortunately, we don’t have big problems. Kovacic is doing better. He had an ankle problem, but he is doing better yesterday in training with the team. And so I think that he will be able to play.”

We’ll have to wait and see if Mateo Kovacic is fit enough to start, or Sarri would rather roll the dice with Ross Barkley or Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Our game against Tottenham is not the only football we’re looking forward to watching this evening. Atletico Madrid host Barcelona in La Liga, in a game that promises to be every bit as entertaining. If you’re interested, see how to tune in here.
