Everton frustrated Chelsea as Antonio Conte’s side failed to make a break through against resilient opposition.
The Blues were promising in the opening minutes as forward players Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard occupying good positions. However, crucial blocks and good saves kept Sam Allardyce’s team in the game.
The champions were threatening for the majority of the match with 68% possession. Clear cut goalscoring opportunities were limited. The closest Chelsea game to scoring was when Ashley Williams headed onto his own crossbar.
No cutting edge upfront

Clearly, Alvaro Morata was a big miss after serving suspension. Michy Batshuayi came on in the last 20 minutes but failed to make an impact.
Eden Hazard was decent upfront but recieved the ball from deep in the opposition half. The Toffees’ defence wasn’t tested physically.
There is plenty for Conte and his team to reflect on what was another deflating result in the Premier League.
Moving swiftly on, here are our Chelsea player ratings:
Courtois 5, Christensen 5, Apilicueta 6, Rudiger 5, Alonso 4, Kante 5, Bakayoko 5, Moses 6, Willian 4, Pedro 4, Hazard 6. Subs: Batshuayi 5, Fabregas 6, Zappacosta 4
Absolutely ridiculous player markings
