Chelsea’s failure in breaking through a weakened Arsenal team in the first leg of the Carabao Cup may come back to bite the champions.

This leaves the tie very much in the balance in this London derby. However, an away goal would be vital for Chelsea, especially with the freedom in which the Gunners play at The Emirates.

Both teams come into the match with solid form after convincingly winning on the weekend. Chelsea beat Brighton in the south coast whilst Arsenal breezed past Crystal Palace.

Antonio Conte will want to see his team play with the ruthlessness and flair they showed at the Amex Stadium. That performance was a breath of fresh air compared to our mind-numbing displays in previous games.

As well as high morale, both sides carry several injuries into this encounter. In his press conference earlier today, Antonio Conte said that both Alvaro Morata and Cesc Fabregas will be unavailable.

As per PhysioRoom, Gary Cahill, Danny Drinkwater and Thibaut Courtois are doubtful to recover in time. The in-form Willy Caballero is expected to start regardless of Courtois’ condition.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger revealed earlier on Tuesday that Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monrael face a battle to be ready with Oliver Giroud and Danny Welbeck not expected to be involved.

As a cup final place at Wembley is at stake, this is what we think the Chelsea team will shape up like:
