European heavyweight clash result may have implications on Chelsea

Paris Saint-Germain have once again failed to live up to expectations of winning the Champions League after losing 5-2 on aggregate against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The French giants fell at the round of 16 hurdle for the second consecutive season and the pressure is rising on Unai Emery.

Despite being destined to be lifting the Ligue 1 title at the end of the season, being 14 points clear, winning Europe’s elite competition is clearly the ultimate goal.

Since Qatar Sports Investments announced their takeover of the Parisians in 2011, the club has managed to beat just Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea… twice.

Antonio Conte’s time at Chelsea appears to be running out and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in hiring the Italian

These frustrations could make the PSG hierarchy pull the trigger on Emery and Blues head coach Antonio Conte is one of the favourites to take the job.

The Daily Star report that Conte along with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho are at the top of PSG’s shortlist.

With United having somewhat more stability than us at the moment, it would be no surprise if Conte departed Chelsea and the challenge of being kings of Europe at PSG may attract the Italian.
