The transfer budget that Roman Abramovich has reportedly provided us with this summer is, quite frankly, pathetic.
In recent seasons, the majority of what Chelsea have invested in the transfer market has been earned through player sales.
The likes of Romelu Lukaku, David Luiz, Oscar and Diego Costa have all departed for hefty sums, with the cash being spent on improving the squad.
Chelsea may be set to find themselves in a position where, once again, we need to sell in order to spend.
According to Manchester Evening News, Roman Abramovich has allocated between £50M-£60M for Chelsea to spend this summer, which isn’t nearly enough considering the overhaul that our squad desperately needs.
We may be forced into selling the sides of Willian and Thibaut Courtois in order to be active in the transfer market. These are concerning times for Chelsea, who are yet to spend a penny since the window opened.
