Chelsea are considering a new contract offer to Estevao, to ward off rumours of discontent over a lack of minutes.

Estevao has been the centre of a lot of chat recently. He’s been fit to start the season, but apart from a handful of sub minutes has only played in the league cup.
That’s led to rumours that he wants to leave Chelsea for more first team football. Today things have taken a new twist with a report from Fabrizio Romano that goes very strongly the other way.
Chelsea could signal faith in young winger with early contract renewal
Writing exclusively for the Daily Briefing, Romano dismissed the idea that Estevao is unhappy with the minutes he’s had so far, and insisted that both the player and Chelsea are “calm”, knowing there’s a long season ahead.
He even suggests that a new contract could be on the way next year, as the Blues try to show the winger how much faith they have in his ability long term.
“A new contract could become a topic soon in the next months in case of meetings with the agents, but at the moment it’s just an internal idea at the club,” he wrote.
“But obviously Chelsea are very happy with Estevao and so, for sure, discussions could take place I think in 2027 for the future of the Brazilian.”
We’d love to see it happen – it would mean we can relax that much more when talking about the winger’s future.
