Chelsea’s summer has not really got going yet – so far it’s one full back in and one full back out.
But when the World Cup is over we expect things to really get going. One major decision Chelsea will have to make is up front. Nicolas Jackson is back from his loan but nobody is sure if he wants to say at the club, or if the club want him to stay. Then there’s Liam Delap, the man bought to replace him. He was very poor last season, and we’re not yet clear what Chelsea’s plans for him either.
One person who claims to know is Max Fretwell of Striver. He says that source have told him Delap is “determined to fight for his future” after scoring just twice in his debut season.
Alonso prepares to get to know his squad

He will first see Delap, then in the coming weeks Jackson will return. There’s also the likes of Emmanuel Emegha, whose future is equally undecided.
