Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is delighted with the focus that the champions have shown away from home this season.
This is in the build-up to the Premier League game for our visit to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
Chelsea lost 3-0 to the Gunners in this fixture last season. This made Antonio Conte change to a 3-4-3 formation which turned out to be the title-winning recipe for the Blues.
Victory this time round for Courtois’ team would see us go back up to second ahead of Manchester United, but 12 points behind Manchester City.
When speaking to the club’s official website, Courtois revealed the team’s mentality going into games away from home.
Courtois is quoted by chelseafc.com saying:
“We go into away matches in the same way we do when we’re playing at home, with the mindset that we have to score and win.”
Has Chelsea’s away form been that good this season?
Despite memorable trips to teams like Atletico Madrid who we beat 2-1 in Europe, things haven’t been as good as Courtois suggests.
Shocking defeats on the road against the likes of Crystal Palace and West Ham have cost the Blues this season.
Chelsea rank fourth on the away league table with six wins in 10 matches.
Hopefully Courtois and his teammates can replicate the performances they produced in the Spanish capital earlier this season.
