Chelsea winger Willian has informed fans of his happiness at Stamford Bridge, putting an end to speculation surrounding his future.
Despite only starting one Premier League game so far this season, Willian has spoken of the fun that he is having under Maurizio Sarri. He may well just be glad to be playing under anyone other than Antonio Conte, who he fell out with towards the end of last term.
Either way, Willian has a smile on his face again, as he has revealed during an interview with Standard Sport:
“I‘m very proud to stay and to be a Chelsea player. It’s an honour to play for this club. I’m very happy at Chelsea.”
“Everyone knows what happened in the last transfer window but my mind was always at Chelsea. It was always to play for Chelsea. Now with Sarri we have a different way to play football so we just want to enjoy and continue to play for this club.”
There’s plenty of games to be played this season. With Willian being rotated with Pedro on the right-hand-side, he will have no shortage of game-time.
Our involvement in the Europa League could see Willian be handed his second start of the season as soon as this evening. We dread to think what his electric pace could do to the PAOK defenders.
