Zinedine Zidane is back at Real Madrid, and that could well mean that Eden Hazard’s future is not at Chelsea.

The Belgian’s future has long been in doubt, and this latest news may be  the thing that tips the balance.

It’s pretty hard to find a silver lining to losing your best player for a fraction of their value, when you also can’t sign a replacement. But there is one thing that could change.

If the club manage to convince Callum Hudson-Odoi’s that his teammate’s departure means he will be a certain first team starter from this summer on, and the winger buys it, it might just be enough to make him stay.

Callum has not one Premier League start this season, and doesn’t look much closer to one now than he did a year ago. That lack of progress will be what worries him, and it may now be impossible to convince him things will change. That’s certainly what we fear.

We’ve had a great ride with Eden, and it only seems fair to let him go and chase his dream in Spain. If he can secure Callum’s future as a final deed, that would be a perfect sign off.

How can Sarri overrule the Club’s interests with his pathetic attitude towards premier league… Read more »
