There’s no doubt that Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has been one of the best player’s in England so far this season.
It feels not too long ago that the Egyptian who fired his country to its first World Cup in 28 years, used to play for Chelsea.
In 2013, Salah joined the Blues for just £11m after his success at Swiss side Basel. However, our manager at the time Jose Mourinho struggled to fit the player in his plans.
This led to loan spells at Fiorentina and Roma before eventually moving to the Italian capital permanently to play for the Giallorossi.
When speaking to Sky Sports earlier today, Eden Hazard praised his former teammate but doesn’t know why Salah couldn’t make it at Stamford Bridge.
Sky Sports quotes Hazard saying:
“He’s a top, top, top player. He did not get his chance at Chelsea maybe because of the manager, because of the other players? I don’t know.”
Salah is the Premier League’s top goalscorer finding the back of the net nine times in the top tier of English football.
Salah was at the right place at the wrong time
The Blues had plenty of quality in the attacking areas in the first season of Mourinho’s second spell at the club. Unfortunately, the player wasn’t at the stage of his career to earn the Portuguese’s trust.
Hazard along with Oscar, Willian and Andre Schurrle were above Salah in the Chelsea pecking order.
Salah can’t be blamed for moving on even if he is doing great things at our rivals. There is no tension between us and the player.
Hopefully, Salah can be stopped in his tracks for the visit to Anfield on Saturday.
