Opinion: It’s refreshing to talk about rare Chelsea transfer news

I’ll be so pleased when Chelsea finally have confirmed new owners, they have their feet in the door, and we are all talking about who we may or may not be signing in the next transfer window.

Heck I’d even invite back the Ronaldo vs Messi debates or Hazard vs Zola, whatever it takes to stop having to speak about or hear about the ownership situation latest. It grinds me down I can’t lie, and I know many others feel the same as this and are sick of it now.

I’ve got to the point where I am just putting all my trust with Roman Abramovich, hoping he decides on the right buyer, and we will be in safe hands and can move forward.

But today was refreshing and do you know why? Because once again we had something else to debate and talk about. Goal produced some transfer news for us to ponder, thank you, Goal!

Although it’s hard to believe that we are making any serious moves at all right now in the market or even really planning due to not actually having club owners, it was nice to read that Chelsea’s new owners are likely to sanction at least one new marquee signing this summer, whoever the new owners might be.

I’m a big fan of Declan Rice so it was great to see his name still being mentioned with us, and I wasn’t exactly displeased to see the likes of Jules Kounde and Aurelien Tchouameni still being mentioned with us as well, two top class young French international’s.

It’s been great to start thinking about the summer plans once again and there is no reason at all why we cannot still build our squad, do some smart business, and continue to back Thomas Tuchel when this season ends, whoever the new owners will be.
