Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to close the gap on the top four to just two points.

We took the lead through in-form winger Willian. The Brazilian cut in from the right-hand-side and found the bottom corner with an expertly placed effort. That is not only his fifth goal in his last five games, but also his 17th direct goal contribution in his last 18 starts for Chelsea in all competitions. He really is enjoying a purple patch! Crystal Palace’s Martin Kelly doubled our first-half advantage with an unfortunate own-goal. Davide Zappacosta drove the ball goal-bound and the ball ricocheted between Kelly and his goalkeeper before nestling in the back of the net. There’s very little that the for the former Liverpool man. That proved to be enough to take Chelsea over the line and secure us a much needed three points, despite a late goal from former Blue Patrick van Aanholt to half our lead. Our attentions now turn to our Champions League second-leg clash with Barcelona on Wednesday!
