Chelsea are close to completing what would be our first signing of the summer transfer window.

We have been on the back-foot in terms of transfers so far this summer, largely due to the uncertainty surrounding our managerial situation.

Marina Granovskaia has wasted a month of the window dithering over a few million in negotiations with Napoli over Maurizio Sarri.

We can’t even consider pursuing players without considering the desires of our new manage, nor can we convince them to join without knowing who they’ll work under.

With Sarri finally closing in on the Chelsea job, it looks as though we have now got to work on the transfer front.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea are on the verge of signing Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani.

It’s claimed that Chelsea will part with £31M in order to sign the Italian, who will sign a four-year contract.
