Two Chelsea players are in talks over joining Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan, according to Goal.
They are, per the report, Lucas Piazon and Michael Hector. The EFL Championship side spent the majority of the summer battling a transfer embargo and are now left desperately searching for reinforcements.
Piazon and Hector would provide quality options for Wednesday late in the summer. They could do far worse than recruiting the pair, who have both competed at a higher level previously in the career.
From a Chelsea standpoint – what is the point of these loans? Neither of these players are going to ever make an appearance for the club again. There is no purpose of continuing to develop them.
We ought to cash-in for whatever we can get and allow them to move on with their careers. Let’s hope that they are able to secure a permanent move away from the club next summer.
