Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has insisted that no decision will be made on his future with the Blues until after the World Cup.
For various reasons, Courtois’ long-term future at Stamford Bridge is in doubt. He has just one-year remaining on his contract, and he has shown little intention of penning an extension thus far. That’s not to mention that Real Madrid are thought to be keen to replace Keylor Navas with the Belgian, with Courtois’ family still living in Madrid following his time with Atletico.
His time as a Chelsea player may well be coming to an end, but Courtois does not appear to be in any great rush to make a final decision on where he will be playing next season.
Courtois is quoted by Sky Sports saying that he is fully focused on the task at hand with his country and is not paying attention to speculation regarding his future:
“I think I proved at Chelsea the last two months that I don’t care about speculation,” he said.”
“I said what had to be said on that terms. I’m now focused on the World Cup. I think my performances proved that.”
What do you think, Blues? Will Courtois be playing with us next season? Let us know in the comments.
