The Diego Costa transfer saga is just not coming to an end. AS reported last week that Chelsea and Atletico Madrid had agreed a £50M fee for the transfer of Costa, but the move is yet to materialse.

Now, reports in Corriere dello Sport (via Express) suggest that AC Milan are back in race to sign the Chelsea striker. The report claims that the Rossoneri’s are confident of luring him to San Siro with a promise of game-time.

The Italian publication reports that Costa is desperate to play regularly to make it to the Spain national squad for the 2018 World Cup. With Antonio Conte shutting the doors at Chelsea, Costa has to join another club this summer to have any chance of playing until January.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Jorge Mendes, Costa’s agent, is trying to convince Chelsea to let the striker go on a short-term loan to Milan before he joins Atletico Madrid on a permanent deal in January.
