Chelsea are interested in signing Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, according to Bleacher Report.
No player in the Premier League made more successful tackles than Gueye in the 2016/17 campaign. Why have just the one N’Golo Kante when you could potentially sign a second?
That appears to be what Antonio Conte is thinking, as Bleacher Report that the champions are looking to draft in midfield reinforcements this summer, and enquired as to the availability of Gueye. However, according to Bleacher Report, the Toffees replied with a straightforward answer – no chance.
Bleacher Report believe that Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in signing Gueye this summer, but it is likely that they will receive the same reply from Everton. Chelsea, alongside their Premier League counterparts, will have to look elsewhere.
According to Bleacher Report, AS Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko remains Conte’s number one midfield target, although there is thought to be plenty of competition in the race to sign the Frenchman.
