Chelsea have reportedly opened talks with Inter Milan over the possibility of signing midfielder Matias Vecino.
Signing another midfielder appears to be high on Maurizio Sarri’s list of priorities, despite already bringing Jorginho with him from Napoli.
There’s doubts over the futures of Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko at Stamford Bridge. We may soon find ourselves in need of reinforcements in the middle of the park.
Vecino is a player who has been linked for several weeks now. He’s a Sarri target, rather than a player identified by the club as a worthy addition.
According to Standard Sport, the club have listened to Sarri’s recommendation and having opened talks to sign the Uruguay international.
We’re thought to have enquired about signing Vecino on Saturday, when we locked-horns with Inter in Nice.
The report claims that he’s valued in the region of £31M. That’s the magic number if we want to see him in a Chelsea shirt.
