Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is reportedly close to becoming a Borussia Dortmund player.

Chelsea fans were full of optimism during the early stages of Morata’s debut season at Stamford Bridge.

With the Spaniard in great form, you could be forgiven for thinking that we’d replace Diego Costa at the first time of asking.

However, it soon became clear that wasn’t the case. Morata spent more time on the turf last term than he did celebrating putting the ball in the back of the net.

There’s a major question mark as to whether he is Chelsea quality, and he may not even get a chance to prove his worth to us.

According to El Gol Digital, Morata is close to signing for Borussia Dortmund. It’s claimed that the Bundesliga side will pay around £52.7M for the 25-year-old.

We wish Morata the best of luck if he does leave. Hopefully that cash would be reinvested straight back into a top centre-forward.
