Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season, the club have announced on their official website.
With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally getting his wish and forcing through a move to Arsenal, Dortmund found themselves in need of a new centre-forward.
From their point of view, Batshuayi appears to tick all of the boxes. The Belgian is raw, there are many aspects of his game he can still work on. However, he guarantees goals, which is something Dortmund will be needing after Aubameyang’s departure.
Batshuayi’s loan to the Bundesliga heavyweights is only until the end of the season. Only time will tell if there is a view to extending that depending on how he performs or how desperate Chelsea’s striker situation becomes.
We very much hope that this is not the last that we see of Batshuayi in a Chelsea shirt. He has the potential to be one of the very best strikers in the game. This is his chance to make a statement.
Best of luck, Michy!
