Chelsea have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Atlanta full-back Andrea Conti, report Goal.
According to Goal, the Blues have been linked with making a move to sign Conti. Goal report that Premier League counterparts Liverpool, as well as Inter Milan and Napoli, were set to provide Chelsea with competition – but it looks as though Conti will not be moving to any of the aforementioned clubs.
Goal quote Conti’s agent Mario Giuffredi, who reveals that he has negotiated his client a move to Serie A giants AC Milan, with the Rossoneri continuing their summer recruitment drive:
“I met with Milan on Thursday. We have an agreement on everything and the player is happy, he wants to go to Milan. It is decided, at least for us.”
Victor Moses enjoyed an excellent season at right-wing-back, but it remains to be seen whether he is an option that Antonio Conte will look to use long-term. Cesar Azpilicueta has been used there, but is less effective going forward as his Nigerian teammate.
Perhaps Conte will look to the market in order to sign a new right-back, but it does not look as though Conti will be the man.
