The agent of reported Chelsea target Elseid Hysaj has insisted that his client will be staying with Napoli this summer, even if Maurizio Sarri replaces Antonio Conte as the club’s manager.
Davide Zappacosta was drafted in to provide competition for Victor Moses at right-wing-back last summer. Though he offered bagfuls of pace and energy down the right-hand-side, he doesn’t appear to be the long-term solution we’re looking for in that area.
At 24-years-old, and coming off a superb campaign with Serie A runners-up Napoli, Hysaj could be. With Sarri thought to be in talks with Chelsea over becoming our new manager, many media outlets have suggested that the Albanian could follow him to West London.
Hysaj’s agent has put an end to the speculation, insisting that regardless of who is in charge of Chelsea come the start of next season, his client will still be a Napoli player.
He’s quoted by Football Italia saying:
“Elseid will stay at Napoli. The Chelsea idea, in the case of Sarri’s arrival, should be taken into little consideration.”
Another one bites the dust…
