Chelsea target Daniele Rugani appears to be reluctant on making a decision on his future until after Maurizio Sarri is appointed.
With six-weeks left of the transfer window, it’s remarkable that we still do not know who will be in charge of Chelsea come the start of next season. That is, however, the reality of the situation we find ourselves in. We have to make the best of a bad situation.
It’s seems as though we are attempting to do that by signing Rugani. Reports in Italy have claimed that we have increased our bid for the Italian centre-back to €40M. Chelsea appear confident of getting the deal over the line with this renewed offer.
It doesn’t seem likely we’ll see official announcement of any agreement until Sarri gets through the door, however. Rugani’s agent Davide Torchia has put the breaks on speculation linking his client with a move to SW6 – for now.
He’s quoted by WAGNH saying:
“It is obvious to say that the Sarri question must be resolved first, then proceed with the negotiations and make them more or less concrete.”
