The deal to take Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino to Chelsea may pick up pace when Maurizio Sarri is appointed Blues manager.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who claim that Sarri is a huge admirer of the Uruguayan. The 26-year-old worked alongside Sarri during his time on-loan with Empoli.
It’s believed that Vecino’s proposed transfer to Chelsea may materialise when Sarri finally replacements Antonio Conte as the club’s head coach.
We get the feeling that this may be the case with many of our targets. Why would they sign for us when they don’t know who will be managing them next season?
Either way, we will still have to meet Inter Milan’s financial demands in order to have any hope of signing him this summer.
As per Calciomercato, Inter will demand a fee in the region of €25M-€30M in exchange for the midfielder. He’s an affordable and realistic option to bolster our midfield options.
