The futures of three Chelsea first-team players are reportedly under threat ahead of Maurizio Sarri’s appointment.
It looks as though this prolonged period of managerial uncertainty will soon be coming to an end. Reports claim that Sarri and his advisors will have held a meeting with Chelsea today ahead of the Italian’s proposed move to Stamford Bridge.
If that is the case, Sarri may well be just days away from officially taking the reins at the club. We don’t imagine it’ll take him long to get to work, especially considering we’re playing catch-up with our rivals in the transfer market.
He will not only be tasked with identifying players to come in and improve the squad, but Sarri will also have to clear out any deadwood in order to make space and raise funds for their arrivals.
According to the Mirror, the futures of Alvaro Morata, David Luiz and Danny Drinkwater are all under threat. Chelsea parted with around £125M in order to sign the trio. We don’t imagine we’ll get anywhere near that figure for them if they’re sold.
