- REVEALED: The size of Maurizio Sarri’s summer transfer budget
Ruben Loftus-Cheek will not be sold by Chelsea this summer… but he may still leave the club on-loan.
The thought of Loftus-Cheek departing this summer, even temporarily, is enough to enrage any Chelsea fan.
He proved at Crystal Palace last season that he is ready to compete at the top level. His inclusion in England’s World Cup squad was testament to that.
Despite that, Chelsea still appear to be open to the possibility of loaning him out. This is while Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater are still on the club’s payroll.
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are insistent that Loftus-Cheek won’t be sold, which is good news. However, he may well be loaned out once again.
On a positive note, the report claims that we may look to extend Loftus-Cheek’s contract before loaning him out once more.
Even so, we hope he stays put. The 22-year-old has so much to offer. Maurizio Sarri would be better off keeping him around.
