Former Chelsea target Edin Dzeko has revealed that he would be open to returning to the Premier League.

Dzeko made 130 Premier League appearances during a four-and-a-half-year stint with Manchester City. He played an integral role in City’s first two Premier League title triumphs.

As Sky Sports report, Dzeko almost sealed a second shot at life in the Premier League back in January. However, his proposed move to Chelsea didn’t materialise, with the Blues signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal instead.

Dzeko is ‘only’ 32-years-old. It’s never too late for him to return to the Premier League, but he fears that time is against him, even with his interest in playing in England once again.

The Bosnian is quoted by Sky Sports saying:

“Regarding the Premier League, maybe it’s too late. I had four-and-a-half great years there, and had fun every minute of every game. I love the Premier League and England, so we’ll see. At the moment I’m happy in Rome.”

Dzeko was clearly unwilling to sign the short-term contract that Chelsea were offering, but that’s not to say one of our Premier League counterparts wouldn’t be prepared to offer a player of his quality a longer deal.

Who knows what the future holds…
