Now here’s a rumour that ought to capture your imagination…
According to Graeme Bailey for The Gambling Times, Chelsea are very much in the running to sign Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, should the European champions opt to cash-in on the Welshman next summer.
Bale established himself as one of the best players in the world during his time with Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, but injury problems have held him back from replicating those world-class performances at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Graeme Bailey claims that Real are, at the time of writing, not looking to part ways with Bale, but if they are able to secure the services of their summer targets, one of which is thought to be our very own Eden Hazard, Bale could find himself surplus to requirements.
