Chelsea are reportedly set to battle for the signature of Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.

Bale’s stock has fallen during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, there’s no getting around that. However, after scoring a match-winning brace in the Champions League final, with the help of Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, he proved he still possesses the star quality that convinced Real to sign him in the first place.

The Welshman sent what appeared to be a come-and-get-me plea following the game, insisting that he needs to be playing regularly and that he was extremely disappointed not to start the game.

Chelsea face the possibility of losing either, or both, of Eden Hazard and Willian this summer to Real Madrid and Manchester United respectively. Bale could be the man to step-in and provide further quality in attack.

According to the Express, we will provide Manchester United with competition in the race to sign Bale. He’s thought to be valued in the region of £80M, with Real keen to reinvest that money into Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar.

Would you like to see Bale join Chelsea this summer, Blues? Let us know in the comments.

Yes would love to have Bale at Stamford Bridge if the duo leave.

Absolutely YES!
Bale is a goal-scoring winger and God knows how much we need goalscorers in our team. His pace, physical presence and eye for goal will give us a lot. Opponents will have to think twice before setting their defense up to only deal with Hazard.

Can’t see it happening, unless we lose Hazard, and personally I’d prefer to stick with what we’ve got. Also, there have always been questions over Bale’s fitness, and you’d have to worry how many games we’d get out of him.
