Chelsea transfer news: £10.5M hitman has contract cancelled by the Blues

French striker Loic Remy has joined Spanish outfit Las Palmas after Chelsea cancelled the forward’s contract, according to The Sun.

Remy, 30, had played a part in Chelsea pre-season tour of Asia, featuring in two games for the Blues as Antonio Conte assessed his squad ahead of the new season.

Yet, despite his inclusion on the pre-season tour, The Sun reports that Chelsea have finally decided to cut their losses on the striker by allowing the former QPR player to join Las Palmas on a free.

As per The Sun, Remy joined the Blues from QPR back in September 2014 for a fee of around £10.5 million, but failed to establish himself as the club’s no.1 striker after the arrival of Diego Costa.

The France international joined Crystal Palace on loan last season, but failed to score a single goal for the club, making just eight appearances.

Remy leaves after scoring 12 goals for the London club.
