Chelsea are reportedly set to miss out on signing Napoli midfielder Jorginho, with Manchester City agreeing a big-money deal to sign the Italian.
There have been suggestions that Chelsea could look to prise Jorginho away from the Stadio San Paolo this summer.
Maurizio Sarri is thought to be set to be appointed as Chelsea manager, and following the 26-year-old’s performances last season, it would come as no surprise if he was looking to take him with him to West London.
It look as though Sarri is set to taste defeat in his pursuit of Jorginho, however. The Guardian report that Man City have agreed a £43M fee with Napoli and the deal is set to be completed.
Jorginho has been linked with City since the start of the transfer window, with Pep Guardiola finally set to get the midfielder that he desires. Chelsea will be forced to look elsewhere in our efforts to strengthen in the middle of the park.
