Reports from top sources like Fabrizio Romano came out last night adding weight to the Chelsea connections to Maxence Lacroix. Today our writer Simon Phillips has added his own details to the deal in a piece on his Substack.
Lacroix was a Tuchel target in 2021

He notes that Lacroix is by no means a new target – in fact, Chelsea’s interest in him goes all the way back to 2021, under the previous ownership, when then manager Thomas Tuchel put forward to the Chelsea board.
Lacroix is a player he “really loves” and “wanted to bring ot Chelsea.”
Phillips adds that Chelsea see Lacroix as a “mentality monster” of the type they’re looking to add to the squad this summer. He’s also got height, physicality and Premier League experience, things that are high on our priority list.
New manager Xabi Alonso has given the move the green light and is “very keen” to add the Crystal Palace star to his team.
In other news…
Juventus have joined Man City as teams interested in Chelsea defender Malo Gusto. But right now both are being put off by one major factor.
Marco Palestra’s old director of football is clearly a big fan of his, and thinks he will be a big hit in the Premier League with his hard running and dribbling out wide.
