It’s one of the biggest issues of modern football that players are falling way too easily and more frequently than they should on the pitch, but our youngster, Nathan Aké who is currently on loan at Watford, has shown that there should also be concerns about players falling outside the whole pitch.

Granted, there probably isn’t another stadium with such a stupid design flaw as Watford’s Vicarage Road.

As one can see in the video, the Dutchman actually managed the fall/jump without getting injured, which was extremely lucky (or maybe Aké is secretly an incredible acrobatics athlete.)

A slight mistake with the landing would have caused a serious injury, which could have proven detrimental to the full-back’s “breakout season” and really hurt the development of what has been THE success story of our loan army this season.

In any case, I have no information on who designed Watford’s stadium, but for those who do know, I would really advise you not to test-drive any bridges or other major structures he’s built.
