It’s been a slow start for transfer season at Chelsea, but things are starting to warm up.
The Blues are being strongly linked with interest in Atalanta right back Marco Palestra. That would mean moving on one of their current options, and it’s no surprise to now see rumours emerging about Malo Gusto departing.
Chelsea aim high with transfer fee for Gusto

Nizaar Kinsella of the BBC today reports that Gusto is “exploring options to leave Stamford Bridge this summer,” with “multiple clubs” including Man City already having had “exploratory talks” with the Frenchman.
Kinsella claims the Blues are asking for £75m for Gusto, which is pretty punchy. He’s a useful player, versatile and super athletic. But there’s a reason we’re happy to let him go. We would consider £50m a very good sum to get for Gusto, £75m is ambitious even as an opening gambit.
Enzo Maresca is about to take over at City and knows Gusto well. It will be interesting to see how hard they push to get him once the World Cup is over.
In other news…
Chelsea have also been linked with a left back option – Gabriel Gudmundsson is a player we haven’t heard much about until this week, but the interest sounds genuine.
Reece James was always going to be a key player for Thomas Tuchel, and he’s been speaking about his thoughts on the England boss this week.
