Karim Coulibaly is being chased by Chelsea now as the Blues look to continue to add to their list of young talents.

Chelsea’s summer so far has been pretty quiet, given we’re almost into the second week of July. The Blues have sold one full hback and signed another, but apart from that they are biding their time.
That doesn’t stop the links to talented young players however, and today we have a fresh example. TeamTalk claim that the Blues are keen on defender Karim Coulibaly.
The 19 year old is emerging as a Bundesliga star at Werder Bremen, and has a number of teams after him, including PSG and Man U.
Coulibaly a Chelsea target despite huge price tag
Coulibaly will not come cheap however. The price estimate from TeamTalk puts the deal at between €40m and €50m. That is crazy money for a player who is effectively still a novice at the top level. Chelsea’s plan this summer was to sign experienced starters to add to their talented youths, not more under 20s.
That doesn’t mean this won’t happen, but we do have our doubts, especially given we’ve got more central defenders than we know what to do with still on our books.
