Goal journalist Nizaar Kinsella has revealed on Twitter that the race to sign Chelsea academy product Trevoh Chalobah is intensifying, with Championship side Huddersfield Town in the mix to secure his services.
Chalobah is one of several academy produced players who returned from their loan stints away from the club and were given the chance to play in Frank Lampard’s opening games as Chelsea manager during our time in Ireland.
Having impressed at Ipswich Town last term, Chalobah has proven he has the credentials to force his way into Lampard’s thinking in the future, but few could deny that he is another loan or two away from achieving that.
As per Nizaar Kinsella, it looks as though he will be heading out on loan once again this coming season. He revealed this information on Twitter, noting that recently relegated Huddersfield are showing an interest in our Trevoh.
Slight update on Chalobah. It looks increasingly like he will move on loan, agreeing an additional year on his Chelsea contract in the process. Competition from other clubs heating up on Huddersfield too. #CFC #HTAFC https://t.co/Pijuhx96hc

Let’s hope that wherever he goes next will prove to be the making of him. It would be a shame to see him become lost in the loan system and slowly fade into obscurity, as manager of his academy predecessors have.
