Everton are interested in taking Chelsea centre-back Fikayo Tomori on loan for the upcoming 2019/20 campaign, according to Standard Sport.
Tomori impressed under the stewardship of Frank Lampard at Derby County last term, but it’s unclear whether there will be room for him in Chelsea’s squad this term.
Everton could be set to provide him with the Premier League football he craves, with Standard Sport reporting that a move for the Englishman is now in the works.
The perfect outcome for Chelsea
As Standard Sport mention in their report, Chelsea have previously rejected a bid from Everton for Kurt Zouma, who spent last season at the heart of their defence.
Loaning them Tomori would satisfy their desires for a centre-back, thus surely ending their pursuit of Zouma and seeing the Frenchman remain at Stamford Bridge.
Zouma’s departure at the expiration of his loan deal also leaves Tomori with the chance to take the position which his teammate departed earlier in the summer.
We struggle to see the downside of allowing this loan to happen…
