LOAN WATCH: It’s bad news for Chelsea centre-back Fikayo Tomori, whose proposed loan move to Premier League side Everton has collapsed as a result of David Luiz forcing through a Deadline Day transfer to Arsenal, report Standard Sport.
You would think that it was Kurt Zouma who the Toffees would be close to acquiring after the Frenchman’s successful loan stint at Goodison Park last term. However, he appears to be at the forefront of Frank Lampard’s plans.
As a result, Standard Sport report that Everton switched their attentions to academy product Tomori, with his own loan move to the club thought to have reached the advanced stages. No longer, though. It’s claimed the deal has collapsed.
As mentioned by Standard Sport, David Luiz is close to becoming an Arsenal player, which leaves Lampard needing Tomori as centre-back cover. It’s certainly not ideal for the Englishman, but sometimes these things happen in football.
