Chelsea have sold a few talented players this summer, but none with more potential on the counter attack than Kasey Palmer.
The attacker has speed, dribbling ability, knowledge of when to release the ball to his colleagues, and the technique to get it there at pace.
This ability to shred teams on the break was massively evident in his previous spells in the Championship, and as this video shows he’s still got that ability in buckets.
Given the style we’re playing this season, and the fact he featured for us in preseason, might we be left thinking we could have used these skills ourselves?
With Callum Hudson-Odoi still out, we can imagine that being the case. Maybe we should have sold Kenedy and kept Kasey? He could have filled in for Callum until now, and then headed out on loan before the European window closed.

Kasey Palmer's 1st Half vs Derby
He's become so so important for initiating counter-attacks, as well as having the ability & vision to slide balls through for our forwards to latch onto. Not something you could always associate with his predecessor. pic.twitter.com/WyLNyEgAyJ
