LOAN WATCH: There are conflicting reports across Twitter regarding the future of Chelsea winger Kenedy, with claims suggesting that he could be set to sign for Reading before the transfer deadline at 5pm.

This news initially came from @TalkReading on Twitter, no affiliation to ourselves, who appeared to suggest that the deal was as good as done, with Kenedy dropping into the Championship for the season.

While Chelsea may still need to shift a non-HG player, Kenedy has been heavily involved throughout pre-season and it would be strange for Frank Lampard to now send him down into the second tier.

We had hoped that someone a little more reputable would deny the move’s existence, which Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella has, in part. Though, even he didn’t sound certain that there’s no truth to the rumour.

Time is running out if Reading to want to get the deal over the line. It surely seems more probable that Chelsea will get rid of Davide Zappacosta, with Reece James returning, but time will tell…
