Alvaro Morata enjoyed a fantastic start to life as a Chelsea player – but there may be trouble in paradise.
The Spaniard scored eight goals in his opening nine games for the Premier League champions, but has only found the back of the net three times in his past 19 games.
Morata has struggled with both injury and discipline in recent weeks and months. It hasn’t all been plain sailing for the 25-year-old, and it doesn’t look as though things are going to be getting any easier.
According to Mi Otra Liga, Morata was extremely frustrated after being left out of the starting eleven for Chelsea’s clash with Barcelona on Tuesday night.
It is claimed that Morata was unhappy while warming up before coming on as a substitute, which is believable when you consider that he was booked just moments after coming onto the field.
Mi Otra Liga even go as far as suggesting that Morata regrets leaving Real Madrid and joining Chelsea in the summer.
This appears to be a developing situation – let’s hope it’ll be sorted out sooner rather than later.
