Andreas Christensen’s future as a Chelsea player was looking precarious as it is, but his chances of staying at Stamford Bridge have just taken a turn for the worse.

Andreas Christensen has struggled for game-time this season under Maurizio Sarri. He had threatened to break into Antonio Conte’s starting eleven, but the change of management over the summer did the Dane no favours. Everyone at Chelsea was given a clean-slate.

David Luiz, whose Chelsea career looked to be done and dusted, has been revived by Sarri and as a result has been one of the first names on the team sheet this term. Christensen is inarguably inferior with the ball at his feet, meaning he has little chance of being picked by Sarri.

If Christensen’s route to the starting side was looking prohibited anyway, this recent incident will do him no favours. The Times report that he left the Chelsea bench 15 minutes early at the Emirates, which has left Sarri utterly furious. This usually only ends one way.

Christensen is thought to have told a teammate that he needed the toilet, but Sarri has deemed his actions unprofressional and is not happy at all. Come on, Maurizio, when you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go! Let’s see how this one pans out…
