Antonio Conte

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte believes the team is struggling to have a top scorer this season in what’s been a turbulent campaign for last season’s champions.

The Blues are five points behind fourth-place Tottenham and the goals have dried up as the likes of Alvaro Morata has struggled to replace Diego Costa in his first season at the club.

Instead, Eden Hazard has been the leader in Chelsea goals this season but with just 16 strikes, you would still expect a bit more of a goal threat from the Belgian.

When speaking in the build up to Saturday’s match against Swansea City, Conte is quoted by Sky Sports revealing Chelsea’s current attacking woes.

“This season, for sure we are struggling a lot to have a top scorer in our team. It’s important to score if you start the game or if you come on during the game.”

Whilst Chelsea go into the match with three wins on the bounce, it would be fantastic to see the team thrash Swansea to make a statement.

It remains to be seen if Conte decides to play both Morata and Olivier Giroud for the visit to South Wales.
