Antonio Conte has once again shown his discontent with Chelsea’s summer transfer dealings after being upset with the departure of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United.
As per The Daily Mail, Conte has admitted it was “unfortunate” to see Matic’s £40m move to the Red Devils be completed.
The Serbian played 35 of the 38 games in our route to winning the league title last season and there were no suggestions of tension between Matic and Conte like there was with Diego Costa.
In the build-up to our visit to Old Trafford this Sunday, Conte complimented the 29-year-old after his efforts in our title-winning campaign, as The Daily Mail reports.
Conte is quoted by The Daily Mail saying:
“I think he was one of the key players in winning the title.
“Now Matic, unfortunately, is playing for Manchester United. I wish for him the best. Not on Sunday, but in the future.”
With the potential absence of Paul Pogba, United manager Jose Mourinho will be relying on Matic in midfield to make the difference against his former club.
