Antonio Conte has only fuelled speculation of his likely departure from Chelsea at the end of the season as the club will enter a full Europa League campaign for the first time in our history.
This comes after a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United on the final day of the Premier League season, which confirmed that the Blues missed out on a Champions League spot.
The strained relationship between club and manager has clearly affected results on the pitch as the loss to Newcastle is one of a number of embarrassing results for the club this season.
When in his post-match press conference, Conte is quoted by Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella firing wasting no time in firing a dig at the Chelsea hierarchy when asked about the team on failure to qualify for Europe’s elite competition.
“I am the last person to speak about this, you can ask the club.”
Whilst Conte is not entirely responsible for our downfall, the Italian’s attitude has been far from professional in recent times and his negative approach to games have also cost the team.
With the league finally over, we can concentrate on winning the FA Cup against Manchester United on Saturday.
