Chelsea take on Tottenham in the Premier League this evening, and we’ve had a crack at predicting Maurizio Sarri’s starting eleven.
The significance of tonight’s game cannot be overstated. Maurizio Sarri is fighting for his job at Stamford Bridge, and Tottenham are not going to roll over and do him a favour. Three points are what’s needed, no excuses. If we perform like we did at Wembley, we may well get them.
Sarri learned from his mistakes during our 6-0 loss at the Etihad and adapted accordingly for the Carabao Cup final. You have to think that he will do the same with Spurs, who beat us 3-1 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Perhaps the biggest question mark is over who will start in goal.
Sarri revealed in his pre-match press conference that he is undecided whether Kepa Arrizabalaga will start in wake of his Wembley antics. It’d be a HUGE risk to drop him for a game of this importance. With Pedro and Willian starting vs. City, tonight could be Callum Hudson-Odoi’s chance to shine.
Here’s how we predict that Chelsea will lineup for the game. What do you think, Blues? Emerson Palmieri has to keep his spot over Marcos Alonso, and there’s no better candidate for that third midfield position than Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
